PACST assumes the role of leading S&T policy think tanks with globally competitive scientists and engineers.

It makes S&T policy recommendations to the President based on each member's specialties concerning various S&T fields such as technology innovation, R&D personnel, and institutional reform.

PACST enables Korea to move towards its goal of achieving a creative economy, by acting as a bridge connecting the people and the government.

It encourages a continuous communication among people, government and R&D performers. It also deals with key national S&T issues and puts forward desirable ways of addressing them on a long-term basis, in order to strengthen the economy.
